Thijs Jacobs is a Beijing-based Dutchman and serial entrepreneur. After earning the title of "the Netherlands' youngest self-starting entrepreneur" for launching his own consulting firm at the age of 15 -- a firm that claimed, among its clients, both the Dutch government and numerous small businesses -- he found his way to China, where he served as Director, Digital Innovation, for OgilvyOne China. There, he was responsible for designing innovative solutions for Ogilvy's biggest clients, and spearheaded the development of OgilvyOne's Digital Innovation Lab. After leaving Ogilvy, Thijs joined start-up Linkool Labs as its Chief Technology Officer, where he helped launch Juice, an intelligent discovery engine which was the first Firefox plug-in to be pre-installed in any release of the popular browser. At Linkool, Thijs led a Chinese engineering team that broke many of the stereotypes about the Chinese Internet industry, creating original, highly innovative Internet applications aimed at both Western and local markets.
